Tailem Power Precinct receives Technical Regulator certificate
12/10/2026

The Tailem Power Precinct has reached another important milestone, receiving a certificate from South Australia’s Office of the Technical Regulator.
Under the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016, any new generator over 5 MW that will connect to the State’s power system needs a certificate from the Technical Regulator. The certificate confirms the project meets the Regulator’s requirements for the security and stability of South Australia’s power system.
This is a key step in the project’s development approval pathway. It also reflects the role the Tailem Power Precinct is designed to play: providing reliable, flexible generation that supports the grid as more renewable energy comes online.
LD Energy thanks the Office of the Technical Regulator for its assessment. We look forward to continuing to work with the local community, government and industry as the project progresses.
